Here at NewThing, we love to continually celebrate how God is at work around the world and we love sharing that news! Albert Tennison, a Movement leader in India recently shared some of the exciting things that have been happening in southern India through Catalyst Communities! Below are his highlights of the last several months - we know you’ll find lots of exciting things to celebrate with us!
Dear All,
I help oversee efforts in four Indian states (Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Maharashtra). In each of these, we have done Catalyst Communities. Additionally, we have done trainings in Singapore and Malaysia. God is working mightily in these states and countries!
Through these offerings, we activate faith and create communities of churches where leaders dream big!
In just the last six months we have seen 78 networks (around 2000 churches) form in South India! 154 new churches have been formed, and I have developed 4 movements leaders for 4 states!
And this is just what has happened in the last 6 months!
We are seeing fruits through our CC gatherings and trainings! 1096 baptisms! Additionally, we have also baptized people who are secret Christians for their safety and the safety of their communities.
We have also provided practical tools with essential skills to multiply and reproduce churches and leaders. Throughout this lock down period we have continued to coach the leaders we met through the CC gatherings.
Let me tell you about a new movement leader! His name is Nagaraj Diwakar and he was baptized by our team of pastors in 2001. He was so helpful in the ministry, assisting in all sorts of work but he was not well educated, as he had to discontinue his studies in the 8 grade due to his family’s poverty….Ten years ago I saw the great passion in Brother Nagaraj's heart to serve the Lord. So I trained him, gave him church planting training, and taught him discipleship, multiplication, and reproduction. He became my apprentice, and I took him wherever I went.
He is now leading whole states as a movement leader, he leads 31 network leaders, and individually has formed 6 churches. He has been a great blessing to churches and pastors in this region. God is using him mightily!
Many lives and the ministry of many pastors have been transformed through our NewThing CC. One pastor named Prabakaran came to our CC1 gathering that took place in Feb 2019. When he came, he was so discouraged in the ministry and was planning to quit ministry. While there he was touched by the Dream Big topic, and our verse from Ephesians 3:20-21:
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
Prabakaran wept, prayed, and rededicated his life right there in our gathering. He’s become a new minister. Since then he has gone back to his town and started groups, trained reproducing leaders, and started one network.
In six months he baptized 126 people and trained up 18 leaders.
