God's Favor is on NewThing...

These words by King David in Psalm 90:17 accurately describe 2024 for NewThing. Over and over again, God has come through for us and shown us His favor. He has shown us His favor through the exceptional NewThing staff team He has brought together. This team loves God, loves each other, and is relentlessly passionate about the Jesus mission! God has also shown us His favor by opening doors to new countries and new partnerships that allow us to reproduce disciples, leaders, churches, and networks. He has shown us His favor by providing the financial resources we need to continue to aggressively advance His mission.

We’re not only helping to plant new churches but also focusing our efforts on planting healthy new churches—by defining what that means and addressing some of the current challenges that churches are facing. This includes building bridges globally that bring people and churches together for the sake of the Jesus Mission through church planting.

As I read through the 2024 NewThing Annual Report, I see God’s favor all over this organization and the remarkable people who call themselves “friends on mission.”

Over the last five years, we have been able to start and sustain 5,033 church-planting networks and help plant 36,169 new churches! This only happens when the “favor of the Lord our God rests on us.”

NewThing places the Kingdom over Castle—that is, the global mission of Jesus over the mission of any single church. Jesus’ prayer in John 17 is that we would be one, just as He and the Father are one, so that the world would know Him. Our greatest witness to a watching world may be to answer this prayer of Jesus: churches coming together as friends on mission to start even more Christ-centered churches.

Finally, I want to emphasize how none of this would be possible without you, our generous donors. Your contributions enable us to support the overall mission and expand the reach of the Jesus Mission. Thank you for being an integral part of this movement.
