Empowering Leadership: A Micro Church’s Journey with The Movement System

In the vibrant city of Melbourne, Australia, a micro church has embarked on a transformative journey through The Movement System. Earlier this year, in March, their team of three began the Reproducing Disciples Catalyst (RDC), an integral part of the system. Reflecting on their experience during a recent cohort coaching call, they shared how one key tool from the RDC has profoundly impacted their leadership, their church, and their vision for discipleship.

A Tool for Transformation

This particular tool, designed to focus leadership efforts on disciple-making, has helped the team stay grounded in their mission and aligned with God’s calling. Through consistent use, it has:

  1. Sharpened Their Mission: By reflecting on its guidance, the team continually evaluates their effectiveness in making disciples and staying on task.

  2. Increased Intentionality: They’ve become more deliberate in leading their church, letting go of hesitation as they pursue their convictions with clarity and confidence.

  3. Raised the Bar: Higher standards and a stronger sense of ownership have emerged within the leadership team, ensuring everyone is committed to the same goal.

A Unified Vision

What stands out most is how this tool has shifted the leadership dynamic. The entire team now shares a unified purpose, a collective accountability to not only make disciples but also to make this mission everyone's responsibility. Their rallying cry, “Together—we are better!” perfectly captures their spirit of collaboration and shared vision.

Encouragement for Others

This micro church’s journey serves as a powerful reminder for leaders everywhere: tools and systems, when aligned with God’s purpose, can transform how we lead and serve. By focusing on what truly matters—making disciples—they’ve discovered a deeper level of effectiveness and joy in their mission.

What could your leadership team achieve if you embraced tools like these? This story is an encouragement to lean into the resources available, reflect on your mission, and pursue it with boldness. After all, together, we are always better!
