Year in Review: How God Transformed Central Asia through NewThing Ministry in 2024
2024 has been a year of incredible transformation for NewThing ministry in Central Asia. Through dedication, resilience, and the unwavering support of our community, we've witnessed God work in extraordinary ways. With a focus on reaching unreached areas and making disciples, our ministry and leaders have been able to spread the Gospel and plant churches, despite facing significant challenges. Here’s a look at what God has done through Newthing in Central Asia this year:
2024 Impact Report
2,887 Churches trained in Discipleship Movement & Multiplication (RDC)
47,695 New leaders trained to spread the Gospel
302,300 People reached with the Gospel through our leaders
15,464 New believers baptized
7,969 Micro-churches established
These accomplishments have been especially impactful in regions with limited access to the Gospel and where Christian communities face growing scrutiny and threats. From legal challenges to direct violence, our leaders have continued to serve courageously, fulfilling the Great Commission with commitment and faith.
Highlights of 2024 Ministry Stories
Bro. Jitender: From Church Pastor to Church Multiplication Leader
Bro. Jitender, a pastor from Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh (UP), felt called to extend his reach beyond the traditional church setting. After years of serving in a local church, he met Bro. Rakesh, a Movement Catalyst, who introduced him to the vision of church multiplication.
With Rakesh’s guidance, Bro. Jitender transformed his ministry by dividing his main church into five micro-churches, training leaders to continue this multiplication strategy. Today, Bro. Jitender leads a network of over 80 micro-churches and 50 leaders committed to expanding the ministry into surrounding villages. His journey is a testament to how God uses committed leaders to create lasting impact in communities.
Pastor Bobin’s Work in Northeast India
In Northeast India, Pastor Bobin responded to a call from an elderly man in Dalkhola, West Bengal. The man, who had encountered the Gospel while working in another state, returned to his community to share his newfound faith, eventually leading his family to remove idols and start worshiping together. After the man's passing, his family continued to worship, but lacked direction.
Pastor Bobin began providing them with training, helping them grow in their faith and spread the message to their neighbors. This has led to an increase in local discipleship, highlighting that even in regions with limited church presence, God is raising up families to be beacons of faith.
Bangladesh Reproducing Disciples Catalyst (RDC): Reaching Muslim Communities
Bangladesh, a Muslim-majority country in Central Asia, presents unique challenges for spreading the Gospel. In April 2024, our leaders conducted RDC training for 30 pastors in Dhaka, equipping them to reach their communities. After two months, follow-up training identified 19 leaders who felt called to share the Gospel with family and friends, resulting in eight new house churches.
Despite political unrest and social pressures, our leaders have shared the Gospel with over 1,000 people, with 234 individuals choosing to follow Christ and 22 house churches established. Please keep these new believers and our leaders in your prayers as they navigate challenging conditions and continue to grow their faith communities.
Prayer and Partnership: Reaching the Unreached
Our mission is far from over. In the following year, we aim to expand our ministry, bringing the Gospel to regions still unreached. Your prayers and support are vital to helping us move forward, and we are deeply grateful for each of you who have stood with us in this mission.
Final Word of Thanks
Thank you for being a part of this journey. God’s work in Central Asia this year has only been possible because of your prayers and support. We ask you to continue to lift up our leaders and new believers as we boldly press on to fulfill the Great Commission. Together, we are reaching the unreached and sharing the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
Please pray with us for more open doors, more faithful leaders, and more transformed lives in 2025!
